Fantastic Response

Incredible responsiveness on a Sunday night after 8pm.we came back from SC to a flooded kitchen, basement ceiling tile below saturated wirh water and several on the floor that had broken. Water dripping into the basement kitchen. Crawl space and rec room ' quite the fiasco! Mr Chen came, quickly diagnosed seversl.problems, got right to work, and helped us determine additional resources we would need. Problems were fixed, recommendations made fior more work to prevent the next disaster - all done courteously, patiently and professionally by someone we had never met. I had seen previous recommendations in a local FB group and it was all true. Highly recommended!

Fast Service!

Since I got the toilet replaced, I thought there would be more of a discussion on toilet height and efficiency so didn't get a much different one than I had so was disappointed in that. I also had to remind them to check for leaks as that was what the call was for originally. But replacing the toilet was quick.

Excellent Service

This was my first time using Chen Plumbing and I was very impressed with the customer service and quality of work. Juan replaced two sump pumps for me. He is professional and very knowledgeable. He explained what needed to be done, gave me a fair quote and scheduled an appointment to do the work. He arrived on time for the appointment and ready to work. Juan has a great personality and was a pleasure to work with. If I need plumbing service in the future, I will request Juan.

Upon arrival customer stated the kitchen faucet has low water pressure. I tried taking the aerator out to clean it and it did not fix the issue I also made sure the stops were turned on all the way and that the supply lines were not kinked. Gave customer estimate to replace the faucet. Customer stated she will have to wait till next week or the week after to get the work done. When I was checking the water heater I noticed water under the water heater but saw it was coming from the prv. I informed the customer and the customer stated that some days it leaks and so,e days it doesn’t. Gave customer estimate to replace the prv as well. Customer stated she will give a call when she ready for the work to get done.

Client called us out today due to the tenant seeing a leak showing in ceiling below that upstairs hallway bathroom tub. Inspected that upstairs tub, and found a few different issues with it. There’s a large crack in the grout for the tile, there’s a large gap behind the tub spout and tile, and there’s also a crack in the Sheetrock just outside the bathtub. Also, the fiberglass tub flexes a ton, which it should not do. Left estimate to properly fix all the issues. Client wanted us to at least fill in the gaps with caulk for a temporary hold, though I cannot guarantee that will provide much help. We caulked the cracks and gaps that we could see to try to stop water intrusion to the wall as NO WARRANTY. Will credit back half of today off of the quoted work if done within 30 days. Charged card on file per customer request.

Customer had a roman tub valve that was leaking heavily when turned on from the handle and leaking into the garage below. Customer stated the tub is never used. Gave customer option to replace or cap since due to age and condition repair can’t be recommended. Customer requested the lines be capped. Capped the lines with the following description, “Price is to cap two 1/2 water lines in wall in attic to Roman tub valve. Price doesn’t include any drywall repair.” Tested work to ensure no leaks, none were found. Made customer aware that the lines were crossed since the 90s crossing them over were cut out.

Client called us out today to check out a couple different plumbing issues in the home. The main floor hall bathroom lavatory faucet on the cold side was not operating properly as it did not have a stop anymore. The upstairs hall bathroom toilets kohler flush seal was out of place and corroded, and the master bathroom shower only had very low pressure. We pulled the handle off of the main floor lavatory faucet, and removed the old DELEX/delta faucet stem, and the seat and spring. Replaced the stem and seats and springs, then reinstalled the nut and handle. Faucet is now running as it should. We replaced The upstairs hall bathroom toilets kohler flush seal with a new one, then set the water level in tank to proper level. That toilet is now running as it should be. We tried to rebuild the master bathroom shower valve to no avail. We replaced the old delta shower valve with a new single handle delta shower valve and chrome trim that we supplied. We cut the Sheetrock behind the shower

Returned and installed a new drain line for the vertical run in the basement. Connected to existing abs pipe and ran the pipe to within a foot of the cast going down into the wood paneling. Reinstated both wye fittings with new PVC wyes to existing cast iron piping. Made customer aware that the way the cast is laid out that there is even sloping for the last 2 of so feet of pvc. Tested all work to ensure proper slop, drain, and no leaks. None were found.

Customer said that there was two hose bibs that were leaking. Gave customer options on replacing or repairing. At this time, customer opted to repair both hose bibs. Turned water off to home and replaced washers on both hose bibs. Turned water back on and tested. At this time, there were no leaks. There will be no warranty for work today due to Band-Aid repair.

Customer had a leaking 40 gallon gas water heater. Also had a leaking 90 on copper piping and needed a gas shutoff for code compliance. Installed new 50 gallon gas water heater with a new pan, thermal expansion tank, and shutoff. Tested all work to ensure proper functioning and no leaks. None were found. Found another leak on another 90 near the courtesy repair. Charged a small fee to drain the water backing down and repair that section also. Tested all work after the repair and saw no other leaks.

Returned today to install new water service. We dug two holes one at the meter and one at the house. I trenched a hole to both of the other holes to run the water service. We installed a new stub out and reconnected it to main water line in the home. We also installed a new meter nipple and a new ball valve in front of the meter. We tested for leaks and everything is working properly with no leaks or issues. We also backed filled all the holes.

Found upstairs hall bathroom, three handle shower diverter was not diverting fully giving a low volume in the showerhead. Found nylon seal had deteriorated. Gave homeowner options to replace three handle shower valve or repair. Homeowner went with the repair option at this time. Replaced the diverter stem and seat. Reinstalled handle and tested with no failures at time of service.

Customer had high pressure in home. The prv was leaking and the thermal expansion tank had failed and was undersized. Customer requested quote for a new water heater due to the age. Replaced water heater and installed a new 75 gallon gas water heater, with a new pan, large thermal expansion tank, and shutoff valve. Replaced the prv and whole home shutoff with a more readily accessible shutoff. Tested all work to ensure proper function and no leaks.

Customer is having issue with water leak coming into basement through main support beam of home. Previous plumbers in the past month have replaced water heater, PRV, flanges, toilet and stop valves. Cut ceiling in basement to further diagnose issue. Cut drywall around back to back bathrooms. Broke tile in standalone shower to chase down water leak. Went into attic to inspect flashing for ventilation line. Source of leak has not been found. Gave customer estimate for replacing both back to back shower valves that are both tiled in. Leak could be roof or gutter system recently installed.

Customer stated that city called him and said that there was a water leak to where he was losing 25 gallons per minute. Did a quick test to see where water leak can potentially be. Shut off, main house water valve, and meter continued to spin. Stated the customer that there is a leak between the meter and that valve. Also, main waterline goes under slab. Recommended customer to call national leak detection and once they pinpoint where leak is, give us a call back to come and make a repair.
